T1 W7 Reading 2021

This weeks reading is about change! We had to look for words we didn't know in the story we read and then we had to find out their meanings. Another task was finding the root word and break up words and figure out their meanings! My favorite part was breaking up the words and highlighting their meanings!

What would you change around the school?

 What would you change at PCS?

Hi! I am the new PCS principal and I have decided to make some changes to the school!

So I went to every classroom and let the kids vote what they wanted changed at our school.

"I will give you one whole day to write what you want changed at our school most."

The whole day I was getting kids coming into my office giving me there papers!

The next day I made sure everyone handed in there papers.

Once I had done that I made and announcement, 

"I have the results in.. DRUM-ROLL pleasee...

The thing were changing at our school issss...

THE SCHOOL POOL!!!"

I could hear all the kids shouting, "HOORAYY!!" I'm pretty sure they are all happy with the result.

The next day I went to talk to the council about changing the pool.

I asked to see if it was ok to change the pool, "I will have to check with the government first. I'll send you a letter on Sunday." I said ok and left. On Sunday morning I went outside to check my mail box.

I got the letter!! I ran inside and started to read it, they said YES!!!

I was so happy!!!

But now I need to figure out the shape, money and who will build it!!

I ran to my computer and started to look and good places that build pools.

I decided on the place that was called PoolYay!

Then I organized a date which was Wednesday April 20th 2021.

Next I made a poster about when its happening and what is happening!

After that I printed out 20 of them.

On Monday morning I Put up the posters around the school so the parents and kids know whats happening.

On the poster I also added that tomorrow will be a mufty day and a fair tomorrow night to raise the money! The kids will have to bing 2 dollars tomorrow if they want to wear mufty and the games and food will cost 2-5 dollars!

Once I finished hanging up the posters I thought about what shape the pool would be.

I ended up deciding on a half circle!

You would hop in on the curve (Which will obviously be the shallow end)

And it will slowly get deeper and deeper!

The next day kids came in with 2 dollars wearing mufty!

Around 5:00pm parents and kids started coming to the fair!

At 7:30pm we all packed up. Once we finished that I went and counted the money..

We raised MORE than enough for the pool!!

Maybe we could make more changes other than just the pool.

 Class changes..

It was the morning and I had just woke up. If you didn't know already it's the first day back at school! I was really nervous, since last year I was in middle school and now.. I'm a senior.

It's gonna be a HUGE change since just last year I was in a normal classroom,

And now.. I'm in a huge hub.

Right now I'm doing my hair, I need to look PERFECT since it's the first day of school.

"Phoebe! Hurry up! We will be late if you don't!" My mum shouted from downstairs.

"Coming mum!!" I grabbed my stuff and ran downstairs.

"Come on! In the car" she said.

I ran outside and hopped in the car. My mum came just a few minutes later with the keys.

We started to drive to school. I was SO nervous.

Then we were here.. "Bye! Have a good day!" My mum said as I walked into school.

Then I took off my shoes and hooked up my bag..

Then I stepped in.. and.. BOOM!!! It was so LOUD!! And there was so much people there and there and there! Then I saw my best friend, I quickly ran over to her.

"Isn't it so cool here phoebe!! I ALREADY like being a senior!" She shouted so I could here

her over all the noise, "Uhh yeah! uhm it's so cool!" I replied loudly.

Then the bell rang and I sat in the middle, We met our teachers and got sorted into our areas in the hub!

My side is on the right with Miss Hudson as well as my best friend Lyla.

"Hi everyone! I'm Miss Hudson! I hope you all have had a great morning! Now to start off the day we are gonna take turns saying 2 things about our self! I'll go first! Hi my name is Miss Hudson, I have three dogs and I'm not the best at spelling so you guys can help me out if I spell something wrong!"

"Oh no" I thought "I hate speaking in front of lots of people!" My mind was going CRAZY!!!!

While everyone was talking I decided this was what I was going to say, "Hi, My names Phoebe, My favorite colors are purple and mint and I have one cat" Then suddenly it was my turn...

"Uh hi my names Phoebe uhm my favorite colors are purple and mint and I have one cat"

I said it SO nervously!!!

Then we started to do literacy.

hopefully the rest of the day goes good..

Change Project

 This week we have been learning about change! We had to make a survey and send it to 10 different people so they could vote what they want changed at our school the most. We also walked around the school talking about all the changes the PCS gas done/had in the past 2 years! My favorite part was when we got to draw or make a diorama about the thing that got the most votes on the survey!

Houses LCS W5

 For week 5 we were learning about the new house names and the moari culture. We had to write down what we could see on the flags! My favorite part about this learning was the bunting!

Reading week 6 T1 2021

 For this weeks reading we are learning about space! I really like this topic because I like space and learning about it! My favorite part of this weeks reading was unscrambling the words and making my spaces poster and made up planet.

 For this weeks reading we are learning about space! I really like this topic because I really like space and learning about it! I liked unscrambling the words and making this poster. I chose a few facts for each 5 planets. The plants I chose were Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, earth and mars.

A New Planet Discovered

A New Planet! 

I'm up in space on a new planet that might contain life! It looks much like earth but water is green, grass is blue and most other things are purple, yellow, orange and even PINK!!

There is also lots of animals but there's lizards mixed with snakes and cats mixed with fish and many more! All the animals were all earth animals but mixed together, It was CRAZY!!

This planet is about 7,400 km big and is about 985.80 km away from the sun. The temperature right now on this new planet is 1.80 degrees F, This new planets atmosphere is composed about 80 percent nitrogen, 20 percent oxygen, 0.8 percent argon, 0.2 percent other gases.

On this planet thee is lots of jungles and trees around, There is also Mountains and Lakes around! This planet has quite a strong magnetic field and it also has pretty strong gravity as well.

The dangers on this planet is that there is big holes and sometimes random bits of other planets and asteroids fall onto the planet.

This planet is the most similar to earth but colors are different and everything else is a bit different to!
Now that I've explored this planet I'm gonna go back home to earth. I'm excited to see what happens to this planet next, Maybe we'll be living on it if something happens to earth?

The Invisibility Cloak and Time Travel Machine

 It was early in the morning and my older brothers were going out on the waka. They put in the oars, fish bait, fishing rods and a basket to keep the fish in, And right before they were about to leave.. "Can I come too!?" I shouted out to them, but as they always say.. "HAHAHA!! Your to little to come!" I sighed and walked away with my head down. But then I heard someone calling my name, I thought it was my brothers but it was just dad. "Come here son!" He shouted. I just walked over to see what he wanted, But when I got up to him he DISAPPEARED!! well atleast it looked like it. I started to panic but then POOF! he was back! "haha don't be worried son! I was just testing out my new invisibility cloak and time travel machine!" he said, I just grinned, "Dad, Could I maybe borrow the cloak and machine?" I said back slowly, "Um ok son just be careful with it we don't want it to break! I only go it yesterday" he said suspiciously, "Thanks!" I said as I took the stuff and jogged away. I put on the cloak and typed in where I wanted to go, "To the waka I go! Time to show them!!" Suddenly POOF! I was in the waka, Since all these years they said "oh your to little remember??!" But now its time for my revenge!! I rocked around as hard as I could, The waka was rocking and rocking, around and around, My brothers screamed and were holding on tight. I wanted to laugh soooo hard but I had to stay quiet. I saw the oars weren't being used so I lifted them up to make it look like they were floating, "AHHHHH" they screamed! You may think I'm done but NO I have one more thing to do, In the basket.. there was lots of fish in there and we already have a lot of fish back at the island in the small cave soooo, I threw off the fish. They screamed more and more, They started to paddle back to our island as fast as they could! I time traveled back. Around an hour later my brothers were back. They raced to dad and told him everything that happened, I watched and I smiled, Dad looked up at me and smiled back. Maybe now they'll let me on the waka.

Reading T1 Week 5 2021

 This week our reading was about Children's Day and International Woman's Day! We had to try find out the meaning of thw words we dont really know or understand WITHOUT using google straight away! We also got to design our own T-Shirt about Children's Day or Woman's Day! My favorite part was making my T-Shirt.

Science Experiment!

 As one of our tasks in the distance learning was a science experiment! I found this really fun and was my favorite thing to do! It was a different reaction to the video we got. My brother also tried but with less shaving foam and it turned out to be the same reaction as the video.

Rain Oh Rain Poem

                                                   Rain Oh Rain

THE rain has started to fall..

It seems that the poor clouds crystal necklace has started to break and fall down.

The wind fights the trees because he is mad,

Everything is now soaked and the sound of the rain drumming on the houses is gone,

The clouds have stopped being sad from the crystal necklace breaking.

It's all gone oh rain oh rain when are you coming back again?
