For this weeks Distance Learning we had to take different parts of two environmentally friendly minecraft houses to create a new one! For our STEAM we had to come up with a new/modernized vehicle, I really enjoyed doing this and named it Charge. Then we had to come up with a jingle/slogan as well as a billboard to advertise our new vehicle.
For this weeks learning we learned about elephant toothpaste and even had to come up with our own design for a elephant toothbrush! I really enjoyed our STEAM project, drawing my environment friendly wrap for food.
So, there I was… Just having a dance party outside on these blow up beds. It's my birthday if you didn't already know, soooo, continuing on… Yep! Just as simple as that, having a dance party. “WOOOO” Me and my friends all shouted. My party is going great! There's no drama, no ones sad, it's just… fun. “Hey guys! Wanna play TRUTH OR DARE…?” Lyla said, “OMG, YESS!!” Kayla said. Kayla and Lyla are twins, by the way. I said, “Ooo, of course!!” Oh and I’m Noelle by the way. There was only ONE person who hadn't answered yet.. “Do you want to play Aria?” Me, Kayla and Lyla said (at the exact same time of course.) “Uhhh, I’m not sure if it's a very good idea…” Aria can be a bit of a scardy cat, sometimes. “Okay then, we’ll go play without you.” I said looking back while walking away, “Oh fine!” YES!! Aria agreed! We all sat down in a circle. Kayla was giving the first dare or truth question to someone, and she chose Aria. “Hey Aria, Truth OR Dare?” Kayla said curiously to Aria, “Ummm, dare..?” Aria replied, she looked nervous. Kayla does really good dares. “Okay… I dare you to go down to the creepy house and put a letter saying ‘we found you out’ in their mailbox.” Uh oh, I felt bad for Aria, in fact everyone did so that's why we all went with Aria and did the dare together. We wrote the note, grabbed some torches and put on our jackets and off we went! Down the street to the creepy house, once we got in front of it… we all wished we didn't do this dare… Even Kayla did, I could tell by her face. We slowly walked up together so close I could feel everyone's heart racing, we chucked in the note and ran back to the house as fast as we could! We really wanted to get back home. If mum wasn't on her weekend holiday, we would be in HUGE trouble right now. We all decided to watch a movie, we watched Coraline because we haven't watched it in AGES and when I say ages I mean AGES. Then when we were in the tent watching the movie we heard something… or someone… Then we noticed there was a HUGE rip in the tent, we all got so scared and ran inside. We locked all the doors and windows as well as closed the curtains and blinds. We then sat down and started watching the movie again, TRYING to forget about the rip. Then the couch pillows started floating and hitting us like they wanted to have a pillow fight! We all screamed, “AHHHHHH” and ran away into my room. WHAT IS HAPPENING!!?? Everyone's hearts were racing in fright. “What if this is happening because of the note…?” I said, they all agreed, they think it is the note too. The pillows came into my room and started hitting us AGAIN!! Then they finally stopped… We thought it was over… but it definitely wasn't. We went back outside into the tent, patched up the hole and went to sleep. *A FEW HOURS LATER* “AHHHHHHH '' We all shouted, WE WERE GETTING ABDUCTED UP TO THIS SPACESHIP!!! “AHHHHH” We continued to scream! When we were in the space ship we all huddled together. We saw these people, they didn't look very nice… “How did you find us out?!” One of the ladies said, she looked like she was the boss of the other ones. We said, “What do you mean?” The lady looked mad, “We live in the creepy house, we saw your note. So. HOW DID YOU FIND US OUT!?” She said, smacking her hand on a desk behind her. “It was a dare! We don't know anything!” Aria said, wow! Maybe she's braver than us, I could never talk to this lady. “GOOD. Don't make that joke EVER AGAIN.” she shouted. We gave her a thumbs up because we were way too afraid to talk. She brang us back down to the ground, we ran inside and went straight to sleep. The next day, mum came home, “How's your night girls?” She said, “Umm, Great!” I didn't want to get her in trouble orrrr me. And then we actually haven't seen them in a while… and were NEVER going back to the house. We pinky swore.

Dear Jacinda Adern,
Did you know that kids can get bored when walking around the inlet? Did you know that kids don't like it sometimes and just want to play? This is why having a playground somewhere along the inlet would make a kids day! There are so many exciting and good things to list about having a new playground by the inlet, but I’ll only list a few.
Firstly, I think and quite a few others think building a playground somewhere along the inlet would be great! I think many other children would enjoy taking a quick stop when walking down the inlet to have a play around on the playground, as well as in the little forts. If you're wondering about parents and would they complain if their kid(s) wanted to go to the playground A LOT. Well they could, play with their kid(s) or look at the view, we could include benches to sit on, or maybe they just sit down and relax. Children would enjoy this playground so much, especially since we have been stuck at home for a while.
Secondly, it will get kids out of the house and off devices for a while! Children can play for AGES on devices but they can play for EVEN longer outside, on a playground or on the grass. But during lockdown kids can’t really go out to play especially if they have no backyard. This is why having a playground close to a lot of streets and houses could be great! Kids can let out all they’re energy by playing on the playground, parents will get to go outside and play with their kids, see the pretty view if the tides are in, or just have some peace while the kids play. Getting kids off devices for an hour or so will be great for them.
Lastly, during the place we are in now not many people can go to work and earn money! So… For people that haven’t gotten a car, car isn’t working ETC. This playground is really good because people can just walk there (If you live quite close.) It also will get a tiny tiny bit of less petrol out in the air because people will be walking there, so it just helps that tiny bit to stop pollution.
To conclude, building a playground along the inlet somewhere will be AWESOME! I hope you consider building this playground and don't forget the mini forts.

The Day I Woke Up With Super Powers
“OAAHHHH” I yawned when I woke up, I rubbed my eyes. Waking up is always SO hard, I sat up and WOAH what was happening.. I started to levitate.. UHHHH… I fell back down onto my bed when I put my hands up. Well maybe I’m dreaming, I decided to pinch myself to test, “OWWW” I shouted, “nope definitely NOT dreaming” I said. I hopped out of bed and opened my curtains, BOOM, “Umm” I think I pulled too hard because my curtains broke and fell off onto the floor! Mum came rushing in, “WHAT DID YOU DO PIPER!!???” She shouted standing by the door. “Uhh I didn't mean too?” I replied nervously, “It's fine.. Well just get new ones today..” I could tell she was still very mad, I was mad.. WHO WAS DOING THIS TO MEE!?? I just decided to carry on with my day, hopefully nothing else happens. I got dressed and did my hair, ate breakfast and did all that morning stuff, so far nothing had happened. I grabbed my computer and set it up, “Nearly time for my google meet!” I said to myself. I logged on.. *A FEW MOMENTS LATER* I closed my computer, finished my work, “Andddd done! Oh I didn't put on my watch this morning because I was so distracted!” I went over to my bedside table and put it on, I tapped the screen twice with 2 fingers and.. UHH UMMM… I started transforming into.. I checked my watch.. It said “Pantherna ACTIVATED” “I’m guessing my name is Pantherna as whoever this girl is” I said. Wow! This day is CRAZY. I went from a normal 15 year old girl to a SUPERHERO!!! Okay, but I gotta admit, this is lowkey really cool! I got a message from “BOSS” saying, “Hello Piper, I am guessing you think this is really weird and odd. I hope you can handle this job as we have been watching you. We think you will be an awesome superhero and defeat the villains coming your way! -BOSS” Okay, I have a million questions, WHY ME?? WHY HAVE THEY BEEN WATCHING ME??? AND WHAT VILLAINS???? I was VERY confused, but I did love how I looked.. I’ll do this job! I decided to reply to “BOSS” Here is what I said, “Hello! I have no idea why me? Why have you been watching me and I also have a million more questions. I have decided to take the job ONLY because I really love how I look in this suit! -PANTHERNA” Yeah, I guess maybe I was a little harsh but it is the truth! BOOM I reply.. Well kind of a reply, it just said, “Wow! Great, you have decided so fast because there is a villain in your town right now! If you scroll on the watch you will see all the abilities you have! Just double tap with 2 fingers! To de-transform you will need to say “Spots off'' and to transform say, “Leo spots on!” You just transformed by your watch because it is your first time! You will also have a Nami that is a leopard but in tiny creature form, he transforms you and is your little friend! But you need to keep this job a secret. NOW GO SAVE THE WORLD!!” Wow that was a lot to take in! I flew out of my window and WOW!! I love flying! I spotted the villain, It was like I had done this before. I flew down from behind, Then I realised, this is CRUELLA!! FROM THE MOVIE!! This was so cool because she was my favourite villain EVER!! But sadly today, the one time I see her, I need to defeat her… I was on top of the roof looking down at her. Then I saw these to OTHER superheroes fly in, one on the left and one on the right! They were both laughing and when they got together did a little hand shake. Then flew over to me one on each side, “Hi, I’m Luminater and he’s Huminater! I’m purple, he’s blue! Nice to meet you Pantherna! By the way, we are your sidekicks!” said Luminater holding out his hand, “uhh okay.. We need to make a plan” I didn't shake his hand because I don't shake strangers hands. I made up a plan in my head and used hand signals to tell me side kicks what to do, they just had blank and confused faces. I groaned and just told them, “So you guys go attack from behind I’ll distract, and you need to take the dalmation on her back off, it's a toy. BLAH BLAH BLAH… So go do that” They both nodded and flew onto the other roof behind cruella. I flew down and started to distract her, “HEY CRUELLA!! YOU DON'T SEEM LIKE A SMART VILLAIN HAHAHA” Obviously I was joking when I said that, “DALMATIANS ATTACK!!!” She shouted, soon hundreds of vicious dalmations came running after me, I quickly transformed into a Leopard and started running away from them. I know it would make more sense if it was a cheetah but I didn't choose okay? Anyway all the dogs started chasing me, then Luminater and Huminater started dashing down and grabbed the toy dog off her back and she fell to the ground as well as the dogs. Then the superhero police came and took her to.. Well I don't actually know where. Then I flew back home, “Spots off Leo!” Then I saw Leo for the first time and I loved him! I had dinner, got ready for bed and went to sleep. Today was an incredible day!
The City Gets Crazy
“Ughhhh.. That villain last night took AGES to beat..” Groaned Luminater (one of Pantherna’s sidekicks) while sitting on the COMFIEST chair in the spaceship. “Uhhh yeah” Said Huminater passing back and forth, “Oh my gosh guys, literally all we had to do was steal the wand, knock the villain out and then the secret superhero crew police came and took her to villain jail, IT WAS SO EASY!!” Pantherna replied driving the spaceship, “but we missed HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2!!” The 2 sidekicks said together. “It was only on tonight,” Said Huminater, “ughh” Pantherna said, you could tell she was starting to get annoyed with her sidekicks that she got put with. A little while later, when Pantherna and her sidekicks were finally nearly at mars once again.. Pantherna got an alert/video call from her boss (The Mask who she didn't even know the true identity of) She answered the facetime call, “Hello Pantherna, Luminater and Huminater. We have been watching the cities on earth, and it looks like in Auckland City there is a villain, she is a lady, blue spiked up hair, blue scaly mask with a blue scaly costume as well. We need you and your sidekicks to stop this villain from taking over the city.” The Mask said to the crew, “but we are SO close to home, can’t you get someone else to do it??” Pantherna replied to her boss, “No because you are the strongest superhero and we think your super speed power plus your other ones will be great to defeat this villain.” The Mask replied to Pantherna, while Pantherna was on the call with The Mask, Luminater and Huminater were getting ready and tightening their costumes practicing what they were gonna do and blah blah blah blah. Once they got back to Earth and were above Auckland City, they all flew down to the ground landing with one hand on the ground and one knee up. “ALRIGHT, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS PULL THE SNAKE FROM THE BACK OF HER SUIT AND THEN SHE SHOULD FALL TO THE GROUND AND GET AUTOMATICALLY KNOCKED OUT!!” Pantherna shouted over all the crashing and screaming. “OK” The sidekicks shouted. Luminater and Huminater’s first job in every villain crisis is to take all the people to a safe place. They scoop everyone up and carry them to safety (while flying OBVIOUSLY.) While they are doing that Pantherna lifts up all the boulders from buildings and throws them away with her power, she doesn't even have to touch them! It's a really cool power. Once she has a clear space she starts to fight the villain with her laser eyes that are yellow with black spots on them since she's based on a leopard, the villain fights back with its flying fangs power. Luminater and Huminater have taken all the people to safe places now so they are flying to the top of a building which the villain is standing under. They don’t usually do this but they can all sense that this is gonna be a hard one. Luminater and Huminater came down super fast but they made too much noise and the villain slithered away EXTREMELY fast. WOAH they had NEVER seen that before. They saw the villain slither into the ancient Museum that was NEVER there before, they followed the villain in and WOW there were so many stained glass creations! OH NO they all noticed that Luminater and Huminater hid ALL THE PEOPLE in here!!!!!!!! But when they spotted the villain again she was just slithering past everyone. Hmmm this was REALLY weird, what is she up to.. Luminater and Huminater started grabbing all the people again to take them to a new hiding spot just in case, and Pantherna followed the Snake villain into the stained glass room.. Luminater and Huminater just decided to hide the people OUTSIDE the stained glass room… This was going to be bad. Then the Snake villain started to squiggle through the stained glass maze and Pantherna RAN through all the stained glass pieces trying to catch the snake villain. They were both using their super speed power but while they were breaking all the stained glass windows all the glass fell OUTSIDE where MOST of the people were because some just left without Luminater or Huminater. All the glass fell all around the people. Huminater and Luminater started to take everyone away. Suddenly the villain changed to normal person form but she must have forgotten she cant use her super speed power when she is her normal villain self, so Pantherna quickly grabbed the snake off her suit and the villain fell to the ground and knocked out automatically like they were told. Then Pantherna fixed up all the buildings but then soon realised that there was a trail of glass that had a bit of red on each piece.. UH OH, Luminater and Huminater finally got everyone that got hurt to the hospital but they soon found out that no one survived sadly… A couple days later the Police were looking for evidence about the stained glass incident. Pantherna was still around and she saw evidence from the Snake villain and took it to her lair because she said, “We need this more than they do…” THE END!
Borders closed or open? How does this affect families? It has been a long discussion about whether NZ should keep its borders closed or if we should open them. I truly think that the government definitely made the right decision to shut the borders as quickly as they could.
Firstly, I know that SO many families are suffering because some of their family members are out of the country and they are separated until further notice. Which is why getting the vaccine could definitely help these families, at the moment even people that have got the COVID vaccine aren't allowed to leave the country right now, this is because we have Delta going around and we can't risk making it worse. When we have gone down a bit with levels and COVID cases, people are allowed to leave the country, but we have no idea how long that could take. I do think that when we are in level 3 and the person from a family that has family out of the country has had a covid vaccine, had the covid test, and isolated for two weeks and shown no symptoms, they should be allowed to leave the country to go see their family members.
Secondly, I don’t understand why everyone wants to leave the country when there isn't even a place to go to because pretty much all countries are infected by COVID. Yes, you may have been planning a holiday for a while now and maybe you were just about to go, but then COVID-19 hit, I’m gonna say this now, just because you’ve been planning a holiday for ages or whatever, it doesn't mean you get special treatment to leave the country. You leaving the country and coming back makes the COVID cases in the country you left to and the country you came back to go up even higher and make even more people ending up with COVID. So that is why just be patient and wait for the borders to open.
Thirdly, keeping the borders shut definitely helps prevent COVID from getting worse in our country. It definitely does not help with everything and just makes COVID leave straight away, it just helps with getting less COVID cases. Travelling in and out of the country carries sickness or COVID. You may say “but I have something important to go to” but really your “important” thing most likely got cancelled because of COVID. There is no way you can make up an excuse especially like that and get away with it, if you say you have family and you really want to see them, that is more important but as I said before travelling there and back to see family will most likely make covid worse in the country you went to and the country you came back too.
Overall, I think NZ is making the right decisions to move slowly, and wait until COVID makes its way out and off of earth slowly but as soon as it can. Hopefully soon we will go back to our COVID free lives.
Hmmm.. What culture am I? What did they do in the old days? Should I be in Kapa Haka? Do you ever have some hmm’s and REALLY want to find out what culture you are? I sure do, but this isn’t about me, it's about you! If you're STILL wondering if you want to join Kapa Haka well, keep reading this piece because here are the benefits and some of the reasons about why YOU should join Kapa Haka.
Firstly, it’s not just Maori students who benefit from Kapa Haka. Potentially all New Zealand children can benefit because Kapa Haka provides a pipe to learn to appreciate the unique and amazing role of Maori for shaping our NZ land and identity. Through Kapa Haka in schools, non-Maori children can learn new words and phrases, while developing appreciation for everyone for being them and being unique. Kapa Haka has an open door for Maori and non-Maori students so that they can access the Maori world and be connected learners. The best reason yet is that kids don’t need to have the best ever singing voice because the group carries them on. Nor do they need to be superbly coordinated while dancing, there is a place for EVERYONE and the most important thing is that there's a place for you, yes, you!
Secondly, doing Kapa Haka gives the students confidence because of performing. Their confidence becomes stronger and SOOO many students feel that they are so much more powerful and they feel ready to take on anything life throws at them! This is great because if the student keeps doing Kapa Haka they will most likely grow strongly and be able to stand up for themselves. Confidence is really important as well, maybe when they're older they will have to say something in front of a lot of people or maybe even just at the same age that they are now, I bet you $10 that getting that confidence and doing Kapa Haka will definitely come in handy during their life. Kapa Haka also provides a strong and powerful environment, it's disciplined and also provides positivity. They don’t bring each other down, no, they don’t, they bring each other up which makes students feel AMAZING for who they are.
Lastly, Kapa Haka is important, especially to New Zealand because it shows culture and shares who we are, what we do, how we got here ETC. Kapa Haka is unique to Aotearoa and it's a very special global identifier, as no other nation on earth has a form of performance like Kapa Haka does. Kapa Haka ties Aotearoa and its culture together with its rich heritage that is threatened to be forgotten if not preserved, studied or practiced. It is an art form and holds great cultural significance to New Zealand, it is the sole embodiment of what is to be Maori and the life that is led by the people.
As you can see, Kapa Haka is AWESOME for learning and happiness. It is for everyone and anyone who wants to know more about what culture they are, How they got here and if they are ready to take on the world.
Why I Think Uniforms Are Bad
Hmm.. Are uniforms bad? Are we making the wrong decision to be wearing uniforms EVERY week day? Do you EVER wonder if uniforms are good or bad in our world? Well here we are, here YOU are, to find out whether uniforms are good or bad.
Firstly, I know, I know, uniforms make the school look very tidy and neat, but… What do the kids think of it? The kids ARE the people that are actually wearing the uniforms, don’t you think they should have been at least part of the discussion whether we should have them or not. Many kids have been and are complaining that their uniforms are too itchy, or too tight, or it makes them feel uncomfortable. Many kids HATE uniforms because of many different reasons like the ones I just said before. Kids don’t get to spread identity, individuality, self expression and those are just some of them that can’t be seen because of uniforms. Since everyone is wearing the same clothes and all look the same, kids and even adults can't see through each other to know who that person REALLY is and what they are REALLY like. It’s so bland and drab because it seems like you're pretty much just looking in a mirror. People EXPRESS themselves through THEIR choice of clothing.
Secondly, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PRICES!! So many schools have their uniforms selling for more than $100, and you also have to buy new sizes and new uniforms because your kid might lose a jacket, or their jumper. Lots of people can’t afford to get their child a uniform because they don’t have the money, and you know how strict schools are with uniforms. So some people don’t even get to go to school JUST because the uniforms are too expensive. There are families that would much rather have their kid wearing hand-me-down clothes or just clothes they already have at home. So if you're a principal, a teacher or basically ANYONE, if your school is gonna have a uniform, please tone down the prices so more people can go to school and parents don’t have to keep buying one thing that is SUPER expensive.
Lastly, Many, if not all children don’t like rules or being told what to do and they tend to rebel against things that they don’t like or don’t want to do. Students could feel stifled because of having to wear uniforms and they might end up wanting to rebel against this in any way they can. Some children get so irritated and annoyed at their uniforms that they start to make any alterations they can to make it more their style to make them feel more comfortable and special, maybe even to be or feel different to everybody else that goes to their school. Many people say that wearing uniforms stops or helps create less or even no bad behavior, but that's not true, as I said before kids make alterations to their uniform to feel more special, but they also do bad behavior because that helps them feel different to all the other kids as well.
These are just some of the reasons why people and I think that uniforms are bad. What do you think? What is your opinion? What do you think about these reasons? This has been a debate for a while and I don't think it will end anytime soon.

Dear Prime Minister Adern, I am writing to you because i would like to inform you on some things we could do to help keep our country safe from Covid 19. I believe these small things could make a HUGE difference.
In my opinion I think that everyone should get a vaccine when its their turn and until then we should all wear masks. I think the we should also cheapen the masks because some people might not be able to afford one. It seems to me that this would help keep everyone safe and we would end up with much less people ending up with Covid 19.
I believe that people without housing or not much money should get sent out little gift baskets from volunteers. They could have masks, water, food ETC. To get people to know about this cause you could send out an email or even say it on the news when you can. Asking for volunteers will definitely help, I am sure of it! I have no doubt that this will make someones day and help protect these poor lives, it will also take away that risk of even more people getting the Virus.
It is my belief that if we get 10-20 cases we should definitely move up a level if we get to 10, if we get to 20 or higher we should move up at least 2 more levels. People may not like this but I am certain that this will help with so many different things.
As you can see, these are very small things and ideas, but I really do think that these ideas will make a HUGE difference and hopefully Covid 19 will make its way off our earth.

I love spring and autumn! Autumn because of the leaves and colors, Spring because its not to hot but also not to cold.
I have multiple favorite animals but my top five are: Orca whales, Horses, Dogs, Cats and Birds. The colors I like the most are: Mint green, Yellow and blue.
Some of my dislikes (food) are: Marmite and Cauliflower.
Two of my favorite subjects are Writing and Art!
I have on cat the is a Rag-doll and his name is Kozmo! He has a dark brown face, tail and legs. He has a creamy colored body and has blue eyes.
