How to draw a cat

Have you ever tried to draw a cat but it didn't make it all the way up to your standards? Well keep reading because I'm going to show you how to become a PROFESSIONAL at drawing a very simple and easy cat!

(This drawing will be much easier if you have a reference photo)

What you will need:

  • 1 pencil
  • 1 thin black pen (optional)
  • 1 piece of paper (any color)
  • Reference photo (optional. You will need a device if you have one)
  • Rubber (if needed)
What to do:

  • First you grab all the equipment (Follow the what you need list)
  • Then set it up to however you like it (before you start drawing make sure that you draw lightly first!)
  • Now its time to start! First grab you pencil and start by drawing the head shape.
  • When you have done that draw the ears
  • Next draw the neck and slowly start moving it into your body shape
  • Next draw the tail, you can do going up to the sky or going down to the ground
  • Then draw the four legs
  • Now its time for details! First lets start on the face. Add the eyes, nose and mouth and dont forget the whiskers!
  • Now you can add the details and texture that you would like onto the body, legs and tail (Stripes, Little ruffles etc.)
  • Now for the paws you can add claws and little lines to add just the bit more detail!
  • And then you are done! You can outline it with a thin black pen as well or color it in!
And that's how you can draw an easy cat! I hope this helped!

A day in the life of an Artist!

I wake up at 8:45 am and get out of bed, I make my bed and get dressed, I eat breakfast and brush my teeth. I set up my easel and put the paint colors I want on my paint palette! I decided to paint a beach sunset. I started by putting light blue on the bottom of the canvas for the ocean. I also added some white and dark blue streaks to add detail! I then added the outline of the sun with a dark-ish yellow and filled it in. Further in I added some orange and red and blended it in. For the sky the colors I chose were purple pink orange and yellow, And blended it. Then I left it to dry for 1 hour. When it finished I picked up the HUGE  canvas and leaned it against the wall on the left side of my bed. I decided to do another painting but this time Auckland city at night with the sky tower COVERED in BRIGHT colors and fireworks in the sky! 1 hour 30 minutes later when I finished I left that to dry too. When it finished drying I picked up both huge canvas's and put them in the back of my white Limousine and drove to the museum. I said hello to the secretary and walked to the art room, I looked around trying to find the canvas with my name on it. When I finally found it I hang them up in the last two spots left. Next I drove home and did a sketch of a bunch of movie characters but then I got a call from the museum and THEY GOT ROBBED!! and IT was MY NEWEST PAINTINGS THAT WERE STOLEN!! I was mad but also happy that someone like my paintings so much they'd steal it! But that's not the point I had to help find out who did this crime! I put on my coat, hat and grabbed my detective kit. I jumped in the car and quickly drove to the museum and looked for finger prints and used my magnifying glass to look for clues I found finger prints and 1 strand of dark brown hair. I quickly drove back home and analysed the strand of hair and finger prints and it turns out that the person that stole the paintings was Mr. Zach Guisache. I called the police and told them who stole the paintings. They took me around with them to find him. When we finally found him we saw that he was only 16 and he explained that he only took the paintings because he wants to become an Artist, He showed us some of his drawings. I told him that he can call me anytime if he wanted to get some tips and tricks whenever he wants and that made him feel better, He returned the paintings and said sorry. I went home ate dinner and had a shower. I brushed my teeth and went to bed.

And that was a day in the life of ME Neave The Artist.

For this weeks reading we are learning about jobs and thinking about some ideas for a job that we want to do when we grow up! We had to record on flipgrid saying what we want to be when we grow up and what subjects would help us get that job! My favorite part was when we got to make our workspace would look like.
